iStockRoyalties Change History

iStockRoyalties v4.2
* Rows available for data and projections extended out an additional four years. This should finally give some relief to those users who have been contributing since the early days.

* Minor bug fixes.

iStockRoyalties v4.1
* Changes to canister levels so Grey canisters start at zero downloads (not one download) and Bronze canisters start at 250 downloads (not 500), as updated by iStock in 2007.

* Acceptance Rate: Before iStock published an Acceptance Rate, iStockRoyalties already reported an "Approval Rate". In v4.1, this is renamed and modified to implement the same formula used by iStock in calculating your Acceptance Rate, and a Cumulative Acceptance Rate is published alongside the previous monthly rate, for direct comparison with the figure reported by iStock.

* May Resubmit: New column now included in the image data worksheet. Tracking "May Resubmit" files is required to calculate the Acceptance Rate. This data was previously not captured by iStockRoyalties, so cannot be automatically imported from your earlier iSR file for existing users. However, the data was already included in any relatively recent CSV file, so if you have kept CSV files you should not need to re-download them. Simply re-import your existing CSV files for each year and the May Resubmit column will be populated.

* Changes to exclusivity criteria: the minimum value for the "Exclusive At:" configuration is now 250 downloads. However, as with iStock's new criteria, the spreadsheet will only let you become exclusive with less than 500 downloads if you have reached a Cumulative Acceptance Rate of 50%. Where necessary, iStockRoyalties now projects the future date on which you will meet this criteria and applies exclusivity bonuses from that date.

* "Total Portfolio" renamed "Portfolio Size" for clarity.

* "Actual" and "Monthly" charts now plot Portfolio Size rather than Month New Images, in both the standalone charts and on the Summary worksheet.

* Modified CSV import to eliminate problems encountered by both Windows and Macintosh users using a Swedish date format.

iStockRoyalties v4.07
* This update provides for compatibility with both the existing CSV files that you can currently download from the iStock site, as well as an updated CSV file version that will go live in a few days time (c. 19 Dec 2007). The format of the data that iSR v4.0x uses will differ slightly from the past. This update is required to continue to import the new files successfully.

iStockRoyalties v4.06
* Temporary changes at iStock resulted in critical data such as download numbers being omitted from CSV files for a few days. This issue has now been fixed. However, it highlighted an issue in iStockRoyalties, namely that the CSV Import macro would fail with an unhelpful error if the CSV file did not contain all of the expected data. This update provides for new error checking so that if the data in the CSV file is incomplete, the macro will provide a message to this effect and then exit more gracefully, tidying up after itself as closes.

iStockRoyalties v4.05
* Thanks to the excellent programmers at iStock, Max Royalty data is now available in the CSV files from iStock. This update enables automatic import of this additional data.
* Improved goal projections for Royalties/Month and DLs/Month, which previously could be miscalculated in certain scenarios that involved months in your history with no downloads.

iStockRoyalties v4.04
* Fixed once again the minor issue which led to erroneous report of a macro virus on some Windows installations. This issue had been fixed in v4.02 but crept back in in v4.03. It was either voodoo or was sloppy version management. But I'm not saying which. :)
* Corrected a layout error where in some versions of Excel for Windows the words "iStockRoyalties-Configuration" on the Configuration pane were partially obscured by the PayPal donate button.

iStockRoyalties v4.03
* Modified CSV import to enable import on non-English systems and systems using European number formats.
* Corrected bug in automatic upgrade code that prevented automatic upgrade in one specific version combination.
* Added custom Finder icon for iStockRoyalties when running on Mac OS X.

iStockRoyalties v4.02
* Fixed minor issue in v4.01 which led to erroneous report of a macro virus on some Windows installations. As a result of this change, the digital certificate for iStockRoyalties has been removed. This means Windows users who previously had instructed Excel to permanently accept the macros in iStockRoyalties will now need to enable macros on each launch.

iStockRoyalties v4.01
* Fixed minor bug to prevent inadvertent user changes to iSR code after CSV import.
* Updated initial default for baseline change statistics to be Previous Month.
* Added PayPal Donate buttons directly within the spreadsheet.

iStockRoyalties v4.0
iStockRoyalties v4.0 included major new features. Rapidly import your history from iStock CSV files. Automatic upgrade utility from iStockRoyalties v2.1 and above. Sophisticated modelling tools to shape projections for weekends and seasonal variation. Track royalties in US$ and your local currency, incorporating exchange rates received for each payout.
